Installation of a corner an ignition advancing is established very precisely at car manufacturing. Adjustment is necessary after removal of the distributor of ignition or a gear belt of a drive.

Before check it is necessary to satisfy following conditions:

  – The engine should be heated-up;
  – On engines with the carburettor, the vacuum pipe should be disconnected from a collector and a collector aperture is muffled by a stopper;
  – Idling turns should be below 900 rpm;
  – To disconnect and isolate a wire of the oktan-proof-reader.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. To clear adjusting labels. On engines OHC the scale of installation of the moment of ignition (1) is on a pulley of a cranked shaft, and the index (2) on a cover should be combined with a corresponding label on a pulley.

The prevention
Two alternative types of a pulley with different labels are applied. On engines V6 there is one cut on a pulley, and the scale of installation of the moment of ignition is on a cover.

3. To connect a stroboscope to a high-voltage wire of 1 cylinder and further according to the maintenance instruction.

4. To start the engine in a mode of idling and to direct light from a stroboscope on labels. Labels should be on a place and be combined with the index on demanded coal of installation of ignition.

5. For adjustment of the moment of ignition to stop the engine, to weaken a bolt of fastening of the distributor of ignition, to turn the distributor and to tighten a fastening bolt. For an ignition advancing to turn the distributor counter-clockwise and on the contrary. To start the engine and repeatedly to check up adjustment of the moment of ignition.

ENGINE DOHC

Installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition is made by block ESC II or ЕЕС IV, and no additional regulation is possible.
