3.5.4.5. Removal and installation of the fuel pump
THE GENERAL DATA

System of injection of fuel

ENGINES TILL 1987

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To disconnect and remove the accumulator.
2. To remove the air filter.
3. To disconnect from the fuel pump management elements, and also returnable топливопроводы from the pump and from atomizers.
4. To remove pipelines of giving of fuel to atomizers and to muffle their apertures, to disconnect the pipeline of giving of fuel to the fuel pump.
5. To uncover heads of the block of cylinders.
6. To establish the piston of 4th cylinder in ВМТ in a compression step (both valves in 1st cylinder are partially opened).
7. By means of a stripper for springs of valves together with auxiliary elements (№21.024 21.024/04 and 21.024/03) to compress a spring of the final valve of 4th cylinder to take a core of a pusher and to turn the valve lever (it is specified by an arrow) on 90 ° (to establish vertically).
8. To remove a sheet casing from below the engine.
9. To remove from the final valve of 4th cylinder crackers, a basic plate and springs of the valve and to lower the final valve on a piston bottom.
10. To establish the indicator of hour type on the second to a bolt of a cover of a head of the block of cylinders and опереть its measuring tip on a head of a core of the final valve of 4th cylinder.
11. To check up installation of the piston of 4th cylinder in ВМТ and to null the indicator.
12. Cautiously to turn a cranked shaft aside, opposite to a direction of its working rotation so that the final valve leaning against a bottom of the piston of 4th cylinder, has moved downwards on 7 mm.
13. To turn a cranked shaft in a direction of its working rotation (elimination of backlashes) on 4,15 mm so that the indicator of hour type has shown value 2,85±0,05 mm (before ВМТ the piston).
14. To unscrew two bolts with an internal six-coal nest of fastening of the fuel pump to a forward cover of the engine and to take the fuel pump.

The indicator of hour type with the holder, established sideways the fuel pump of type DPA (in the cars made till December, 1986)

 

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Sideways the fuel pump to unscrew a bolt of fastening and to unscrew a stopper closing a control aperture for installation of the moment of injection.
2. To turn a pump shaft so that an adjusting sign (flute) of a rotor of the pump has been directed upwards (was in the middle of a control aperture).
3. To establish the fuel pump and to fix its two bolts with an internal six-coal nest.
4. To check up installation of a rotor of the pump.
5. To fix the holder together with the indicator sideways the pump and опереть a measuring tip of the indicator on an adjusting sign on a rotor of the fuel pump.
6. To turn a cranked shaft aside, opposite to a direction of its working rotation so that the piston of 4th cylinder has appeared on distance of 7 mm before ВМТ.
7. To turn a cranked shaft clockwise while the indicator on the fuel pump will not show the maximum value with accuracy of 0,1-0,2 mm. This value should make 2,85±0,05 mm before ВМТ the piston of 4th cylinder. If it not so it is necessary to weaken bolts of fastening of the pump and cautiously it to turn.
8. To repeat described above action, beginning from installation of the piston of 4th cylinder on distance of 7 mm before ВМТ, before reception of necessary value on the indicator of hour type.
9. To tighten high pressure pipelines, since the back pipeline.
10. To establish the piston of 4th cylinder in ВМТ and to remove the adaptations used for installation of a corner of an advancing of injection.
11. To establish springs of the final valve of 4th cylinder, a basic plate and crackers.
12. To turn a cranked shaft aside opposite to a direction of its working rotation till the moment of opening of the final valve of 1st cylinder.
13. To insert a core of a pusher of the final valve of 4th cylinder, to establish the lever of this valve and to fix closing stopper on the fuel pump.
14. To check up backlashes of valves and to screw a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.
15. To attach management elements the fuel pump and pipelines.
16. To establish the air filter.
17. To establish a sheet casing of the engine.
18. To establish and connect the accumulator.
19. To remove air from fuel system.

ENGINES SINCE 1987

Removal of the fuel pump on engines since 1987 is carried out similarly to removal of the fuel pump on engines till 1987 (see above). However installation of the moment of injection of fuel is carried out on other.

On each pump there is a stopper from an artificial material on which the adjusting size in millimetres is beaten out. This size different for each pump; it is measured by the indicator of hour type with extension piece Ford 23-0.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To remove the closing stopper located on a cover of the pump.
2. To fix on the pump the indicator of hour type together with extension piece Ford 23-0.
3. To establish the indicator so that its marksman started to move (a measuring tip slightly concerns a pump rotor).
4. To establish an arrow of the indicator of the pump on a zero.
5. To establish the piston of 4th cylinder on distance 2,85±0,4 mm before ВМТ.
6. The indicator of hour type of the pump should show at once the value which has been beaten out on a stopper of the pump.
7. If this condition is not carried out, it is necessary to weaken bolts of fastening of the fuel pump and very cautiously to turn it in one or other party before reception of the necessary indication of the indicator on the pump.
